Azari.........you are one stupid, ignorant person! Turks have been around as long as any other people if not longer! Persians have been in Iran for only about 4.000 years, the area of present day Azerbaijan was then occupied by the Medes(Kurds of today). Turks have only been in Iran for the past 1.000 years does not mean that they didn't exist before, just as you cannot say that Persians did not exist before they came to Iran! Zaratushtra was Persian, noone mentioned him! And by the way, many scholars believe that he was born in Khorasan .......near Balkh in present day Afghanistan! But then the Persians of the area were assimilated and mixed with the Seljuk Turks who showed up in the 11th century.....many fled. The contributions of the Turks in Iran can be seen anywhere........Nadir Shah Afshar brought the peacock throne to Iran.......Rumi, Khayam, Khagani, Ghaffari, Fizuli, Nizami, Kasravi, Ajemi, need I go on? Still wondering about our contributions to the world???? Azeri are Turk..........by language, by race, by culture! The need for a free Azerbaijan and Turkestan in general is more than a need to speek ones language, it is a need to be able to live as a dignified human being in ones own nation! North Azerbaijan is free now, it is our right to join our brothers! You are the one who needs to learn logic..........all you can say is that Persians were there first, well the Elamites were there before the Persians! You sound like a little kid who was pushed off a swing! You say the same thing over and over.........Ataturk was a symbol of Turk unity, not just of Turkey.........he stands for progress and pride, for human dignity and freedom! Please write something when you can write it intelligently! The name of the region remained Azerbaijan but the population shifted..........history and culture are an evolutionary process......Azeris are Turk, why are you so afraid to admit it? Read a book...............or go to a decent school! But I forgot............there is no Azeri school in Iran!
